About Kirken ACTS Vejle

Kirken ACTS Vejle celebrates 100 years as a church in 2026 — and begins a new chapter under the name Kirken ACTS: one church, two locations, together with the newly planted Kirken ACTS Billund. Here you can learn more about who we are, what we believe and what drives us.

History

100 years. The same heart.

The Apostolic movement has its roots in the Welsh Revival of 1904–05. It came to Denmark in 1924, and two years later, in 1926, Apostolsk Kirke Vejle was founded.

For the first 20 years, the congregation gathered at tent meetings, in rented venues around the city and in private homes. The church then acquired its first house at Svendsgade 42.

By 1957, the congregation had outgrown the premises on Svendsgade. It bought land with a building at Worsaaesgade 14. A new church building was later constructed there, and a youth centre was added beside the church in 1973.

In 2007, the congregation moved from Worsaaesgade to Vardevej 106, where we still meet today.

In 2026, we celebrate the church’s centenary in Vejle under the name Kirken ACTS Vejle. The documentary below follows this history and introduces some of the people who have been part of it.
